Illuminated Stories After Stroke

Join us in honoring local survivor wisdom.

October 1, 2026
Portland, OR

A storytelling evening of reflection, connection, and hope.

Join local stroke survivors, their families, and healthcare professionals for an evening featuring seven stroke survivors sharing their thoughtfully crafted seven-minute personal stories of wisdom, purpose, connection, and hope after stroke.

Each storyteller participated in the Illuminated Stories After Stroke workshop, dedicating seven weeks to reflecting, reframing, and reclaiming their experiences. Through this process, they moved from asking, “What happened to me?” to exploring, “Who am I becoming?”

We welcome the community to reflect, connect, and celebrate the wisdom that emerges through lived experience. Every story is unique, yet the threads of resilience, courage, and hope remind us of our shared humanity. Together, we illuminate the stories that connect us.
